Polarization properties of 6.7 GHz methanol masers in NGC6334F
The Australia Telescope Compact Array (ATCA) has been used to make the first full polarization observations of 6.7 GHz methanol masers. Linear polarization was detected towards all four sources observed, at levels between a few and 10%, while none of the sources show circular polarization stronger than approximately 1.5%. Linear polarization appears to be more common in the 6.7 GHz methanol mas...
متن کاملVLBI maps and properties of the 6 GHz OH masers in W 3(OH)
We present the first maps of the 2Π 3 2 , J = 2 , F = 3−3 and F = 2−2OH maser emission from W3(OH) at 6.035 and 6.031 GHz in both right and left circular polarizations. We used three antennas of the European VLBI Network to achieve a spatial resolution of a few milliarcseconds (mas). Our maps, restored with a beam of 5 x 6.5 mas, show complex OH emission structures in several velocity channels....
متن کاملFull polarization study of SiO masers at 86 GHz
We study the polarization of the SiO maser emission in a representative sample of evolved stars in order to derive an estimate of the strength of the magnetic field, and thus determine the influence of this magnetic field on evolved stars. We made simultaneous spectroscopic measurements of the 4 Stokes parameters, from which we derived the circular and linear polarization levels. The observatio...
متن کامل60 GHz Polarization Reconfigurable DRA Antenna
This paper outlines a new polarization reconfigurable EBG (Electromagnetic Band Gap) antenna in the 60 GHz millimeter waves band. The proposed hybrid antenna is composed of a multilayer pyramidal DRA (Dielectric Resonator Antenna) exciting source covered with a FSS (frequency Selective Surface) superstrate. The device can switch between circular and linear polarization by a simple 45 ̊ mechanica...
متن کاملOh Masers in G11.904−0.141
The massive star-forming region G11.904−0.141 is one of only 11 sources to show maser emission in the highly-excited 13441 MHz transition of OH. but the 13441 MHz masers are not detected. Consistent magnetic field strengths of approximately +3.5 mG are detected in the ground-state masers, in contrast with a possible −3.0 mG magnetic field previously detected at 13441 MHz. The variable 13441 MHz...
